Introduction:
Dr. David H. Yu is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Microbiology and a minor in Studio Art. Following graduation from Indiana University, he entered dental school at the Indiana School of Dentistry and graduated with honors and numerous awards. He then attended a General Practice Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He also received his specialty training in periodontics at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. He was in specialty practice in Dallas for three years before moving to Austin, Texas, where he is now one of the leading innovators of implant and periodontal therapy. Dr. Yu has lectured nationally to general dentists, specialists, and hygiene professionals about wide-ranging topics such as biologic mediators, tissue engineering, virtual planning of implant placement, immediate implant therapy, and provisionalization of implants. His unique skills have honed his practice towards aesthetic surgical periodontics. He has been voted by his peers as “Super Dentist” in Texas Monthly (2004-2009) and Austin Monthly (2006-2009). Dr. Yu is married to Wendy, who is a radiologist, and has two children- Kevin and Katelyn. He enjoys reading, drawing, swimming, biking, rollerblading, traveling, tennis, and playing with the kids.
